When using a flashlight to signal for help via Morse code, define a long flash as “-” and a short flash as “.”. By toggling the flashlight on and off, you can transmit various messages, such as a distress signal.
If the lights are displayed according to the pattern “short flash, dark, short flash, dark, short flash, dark, long flash, dark, long flash, dark, long flash, dark, short flash, dark, short flash, dark, short flash,” then it signifies the distress signal SOS.
